Join a Rock Band this Summer!
Whether you are in your first year as a player or a more advanced young musician, the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp offers you the opportunity to join a rock band, jam with your peers and improve your skills on your instrument of choice (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or vocals).
You will receive expert instruction from our experienced and friendly teachers who are working professional musicians. All in a friendly, creative and fun filled environment in one of Toronto's Best Schools!
At the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp you
will:
- Join in Rock Band.
- Write an Original Song or learn a famous Rock Song.
- Play LIve during the week ending Rock Concert!
- Record your song during your live concert performance at the end of each week!
A Day at the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp
During your first day at the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp,
you will be placed in a Rock Band by our professional
staff. Campers are placed in bands based upon several
factors:
- Age
- Ability
- Musical Preference
The professional staff at the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp are experienced musicians who have played in bands, recorded CDs and toured extensively. They realize that the chemistry within any given band is important and will match TRC campers so that the spirit of fun and collaboration is always first and foremost!
Once the Rock Bands are formed, they are led by a Band Director who will guide the band throughout the week. Students are instructed by their Band Director as they rehearse, write an original song (or learn a famous song of their choice), and prepare to perform at the end of week Rock Concert!
Special Clinics:
Clinics are held in recording, songwriting, and instrument specific instruction where campers are grouped by instrument. TRC clinics are often supported by visiting professional musicians and special guests!
Art and New Media Clinic:
You've formed you Rock Band, now you need to name, market and promote it before your big concert! At the Art and New Media Clinic, TRC campers will design the promotional material for the Rock Band!
Student to Staff Ratio:
At the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp, our student to staff ratio is less than 3 to 1 and our Student to Band Leader (Professional Musician) ratio is no greater than 6:1. Please note that the TRC staff members who are not Band Leaders are also either experienced or professional musicians.
What your Day will look like at the TRC:
- Band Rehearsal
- Instrument Class: Instruction in chosen instrument.
- Songwriting Clinic
- Lunch: In the School; at Local Restaurants; or Picnics on the Patio or Grounds (weather permitting).
- Recreation: Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, or just chilling out.
- Art and New Media Clinic: Design the Promotional Material for your Rock Band!
- Instrument Class: Instruction in chosen instrument.
- Band Rehearsal
- Clinics from visiting Professional Musicians: Specific to your Instrument

Monday to Thursday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM,
Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM,
Drop Off: 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM
Pick Up: 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM (Monday through Thursday)
Friday Concert: 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
