Looking to grab the spotlight and become a lead vocalist? Do you think you have what it takes to become a Star? CityArts is building upon Canada's best Rock Camp program and launching StarCamp 2010 for aspiring Pop Stars and Rock Stars. This intensive one week program will teach you how to take the stage, grab the microphone and thrill an audience!
At the CityArts Toronto StarCamp the focus will be on
you as a Lead Singer:
- Have a great band of young, talented CityArts musicians back you!
- Pop, Rock, R&B, Blues, Jazz? We've got you covered!
- Receive expert Vocal performance coaching!
- Play Live during the week ending Concert!
- Have you week and performance professionally photographed!
- Professionally record your songs (multitrack audio and video) during your live concert performance at the end of each week!
A Day at the CityArts StarCamp
You will receive expert vocal instruction from our experienced and friendly teachers who are working professional musicians. All in a friendly, creative and fun filled environment in one of Toronto's Best Schools! The professional staff at the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp are experienced musicians who have played in bands, recorded CDs and toured extensively. They realize that the chemistry within any given band is important and will match TRC campers so that the spirit of fun and collaboration is always first and foremost!
What your Day will look
like at the CityArts StarCamp:
◦ Rehearsal with your backing band
◦ Vocal Instruction and performance coaching
◦ CityArts Instruction Clinics
◦ Lunch: In the School; at Local Restaurants; or
Picnics on the Patio or Grounds (weather permitting).
◦ Recreation: Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Ultimate
Frisbee, or just chilling out.
◦ Promotional and Media Clinics: Learn how to design
your Promotional Material!
◦ Voice Coaching
◦ Rehearsal
◦ Clinics from visiting Professional Musicians and
Vocalists
Special
Clinics:
Clinics are held in recording, songwriting, and instrument
specific instruction where campers are grouped by
instrument. CityArts clinics are often supported by
visiting professional musicians and special guests!
Student to Staff Ratio:
At the CityArts Toronto Rock Camp, our student to staff
ratio is less than 3 to 1 and our Student to Band Leader
(Professional Musician) ratio is no greater than 6:1.
Please note that the TRC staff members who are not Band
Leaders are also either experienced or professional
musicians.
